The Park Plaza Tyrrelstown is well away from the parts of Dublin a tourist would want to see, and it isn't easy to find! When we called the hotel to get an address to punch into our GPS, all they could provide was a route number (astounding that their front desk staff didn't know an exact address!). After much driving, we found it and made sure to fix the route in our memories.
The staff at the desk didn't exude Irish charm. Rather, they seemed coldly professional, tolerating our presence.
Our room was quite lovely. One look showed how new the place was, and the amenities were very nice, as was the tilework in the bathroom. To call the bed hard would be an understatement. It was like rock. We were not pleased, but we were stuck with it.
The hotel restaurant, Maya Che, had good food, but it was very pricey, even by local standards.
The icing on the cake for this decidedly mediocre stay was that the hotel charged an extra 20 Euros to my credit card two weeks after we left. No e-mail to say why, and there can be no reason. We left the room spotless, we returned our keycards, we didn't take anything with us (we never even used the mini-bar), but they apparently felt entitled to bill for who-knows-what without so much as the courtesy of a heads-up to let me know what they were doing. As we had already dropped over $2,100 for a week's stay there (that includes a couple of meals), perhaps they thought I wouldn't notice or mind an extra 20 Euros. Of course, this fits with their overall attitude. Not exactly first class!

I stayed at this hotel for one night while working in Dublin. Unfortunately my train was delayed by a few hours so i didn't arrive at the hotel until midnight. The night manager or porter (i think his name was Andreas) was great. He greeted me from the taxi and carried my heavy luggage to the check-in desk. He checked me in and arranged a taxi for me for the morning and carried my luggage up to my room for me.
I stayed in a Junior Deluxe Suite i think it was called. It was gorgeous. Huge bathroom, sitting room area attached to the room, 2 massive flat screen tv's and really nicely decorated. I wish i had more time to relax and enjoy the room but i had to be up early for work so went straight to bed-although the beds were very comfortable so i enjoyed my sleep anyways.
Ordered breakfast to the room in the morning and it was very nicely displayed. There were nice little features in the room like a mini-bar and umbrellas for use during your stay. After i checked out my taxi was waiting for me to go. Perfect timing.
My only regret is taking the train to Dublin because it delayed me from being able to spend more time in this lovely hotel!

The hotel is just great. The staff is very friendly. It is a couple of kilometres away from the citycentre but therefore contemporaryly designed and very neat. Tyrrelstown is a quiet little village - but Dublin City is only a short bus ride away.
The hotel has got very good weekend rates for the the next months. I booked it over www.hotelsireland.com. Got a Double for only 42?pps! This rate in Dublin...
Honestly, even though it isn't a citycentre hotel, it's worth a try when visiting Dublin.

I was greeted by very friendly front desk staff with a quick and smooth check-in, which was great for us as we had just arrived from the USA. The room was wonderful and was more than we expected. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely, we were served by a wonderful polish girl (Ursula, please forgive the spelling if incorrect). My wife decided to go into Dublin City for the day.
I decided to stay at the hotel and take advantage of the gym. I went down to the hourglass bar in the afternoon and was greeted by a young man named Alex. As I was the only person in the bar I managed to have a conversation with him. I was absolutely blown away by this young mans knowledge of wine and spirits it was wonderful to have a conversation with someone this passionate and knowledgeable about there job. Being a former bars Manager in the States it was gtreat for me to see this enthusiasm by this youngster.
On Check out I was dealt with by a wonderful young lady (Front Desk Manager) who checked me out very quickly and arranged for my luggage to be brought downstairs. This hotel is great and I say thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our stay amazing.

Hotel is very good indeed, staff helpful, rooms very clean and comfortable. Ate in the restaurant and the food was really nice and good value. Taxi into the city was around 20 euros and the airport 25 euros. Would recommend this hotel and stay there again
