Stayed here for one night. Hotel is located very central. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Got breakfast delivered to room and it was very good. Rooms are spacious and modern and beds are really comfortable. Bathroom is big with bath and seperate shower. Visited the spa in the hotel, again excellent. Will return here. Again must emphasise the location of Hotel is excellent. Will return here and would most definitely reccommend to family, friends/colleagues

I went to a local event and opted to stay rather than drive and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a Suite which provided an incredible amount of room, particularly for a city centre hotel. I loved the style of the room and particularly the lushness of the bathroom and its immense size. Felt very decadent. The bed was king-sized and incredibly comfortable. We ordered drinks to our room for a particular time and this took a bit of chasing, but the service once it arrived was very good. Breakfast was very tasty, though it was a little confusing initially whether it was a choice between cooked or buffet option (you get both). Service was very good though and the food fresh and tasty. Dinner in the restaurant was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, with very good service and choice. Really liked the atmosphere.

Booked a couple of nights in a Junior Suite. The room wasn't ready when we got there at 3pm, and when we got in it hadn't been hoovered and no welcome tray ever appeared. The pool has things floating in it - looked like a disintegrated tissue - and there were a couple of broken tiles in the male changing room. The restaurant manager is a delight, and the food was excellent. We were taking a couple of treatments in the Spa, so we asked for a later checkout. They stretched it by an hour which was OK, but given the money we were spending there, they could have been a bit more generous. The next morning at breakfast we were squished in against the back wall between other people, despite there being ample room. Crockery was dirty. Then we called in at reception to ask about our GoldPoints because we've never actually had any added despite this being our 6th stay! The reception manager - Lena - was very rude and snotty. So we cancelled our spa treatments (?220) and cancelled our second night in the hotel (?180) and checked out. I can safely say I will never, ever stay in the Park Plaza in Cardiff again. Stay in the Hilton - the welcome is much better!! I'm not sure, but I think perhaps some of the staff in there are a little homophobic...

I stayed at the hotel in June for my first wedding anniversary. The hotel is set in a ideal location, the rooms are modern and contemporary. We had a room at the rear over the hotel overlooking City Hall. The bar & restaurant are the place to be on a Friday night.

Stayed for 2 nights on business. Booked a week in advance through employer's travel agent but they didn't have my reservation at reception on arrival. Reception staff were very helpful, though, as they helped track down the booking. Good sized room with good aircon, nice large flat screen tv, comfy bed, etc - all quite modern and stylish. Breakfast both mornings was tasty and efficient. Great location for the city centre with shops and attractions close by. No parking at the hotel but the NCP Greyfriars Road is opposite and you can pay at the hotel at a reduced rate (still ?10 a day though which you have to add to your room price of course). Plenty of taxis and buses available near the hotel, too. I'd say the Park Plaza is at the same sort of level as the Mercure Holland House and would recommend both.
