"It was a magical stay...My husband and I travel with our 6 year old twin girls to visit Disney World we stayed in a one bedroom villa...Just to start I was not looking foward to having to go DW and standing in long lines and in the heat...but I know it was something we had to do...so I wanted to make..."

You don't get very much more space than you would with a usual hotel room, at least in a "Club Suite Villa". What you do get at the Villas is peace and quiet, perhaps a bit too much of it because you may feel very isolated staying there. The balcony was not overlooked by any other people which was nice but the view was of mostly scrubland that is being prepared for something with a golf course in the distance. I really wished we had stayed at the Hyatt that is nominally part of the same resort, although about 2 1/2 miles away from where the actual Villas are, which are down quiet resort roads with not much sign of life apart form the occasional golfer !!. You see a few other people around but it is not like the buzz of a hotel where you feel looked after. It is hard to put my finger on but you don't have that feeling of being an honored guest, of being welcome and special. Perhaps we made a mistake in the choice, the Hyatt seemed much nicer on every front that the Villas. I will say without a doubt Housekeeping should be improved. When we checked into the room the bathtub was full of dust, well I thought it was until I went to clean it and everything started running around, yep without any exaggeration there were probably about 10 bugs living there. We came back one day to find that the maid had left our Villa door open to the world. I tried to complain to housekeeping but it turned out the lady I spoke to did not have good English, after a minute of mentioning that we could have been robbed she asked "Do you want a sofa bed"!! On the final day the maid let herself at 9.00am in to shout "What time are you checking out" !!! We ate at the Hyatt Hotel in the "Sports bar", well not really a sports bar despite their advertising it as such, more like a reasonably upmarket restaurant with a tv in one corner, $100 for two mains and a couple of beers but we loved the food there so easily worth it. The food in the Villas Golf Club was only okay, quite basic but good enough if you are tired after a long day out. As I say perhaps this place was the wrong choice for us, I MUCH preferred staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek last September.

My husband and I booked a suite at the Villas at Grand Cypress for our week honeymoon in the middle of December. We arrived and were greeted warmly by very competent hotel staff. The grounds are absolutely exquisite and for you golfers out there it'd be like arriving in heaven :) The room was large and airy with a lakeside view and it had terrific amenties! The downfall of this secluded destination, and a big one for the type of people we are, was the transportation. We went on our honeymoon expecting to go to Disney World every day and get there with ease via the complimentary shuttle the Villas boasted they provided. We soon discovered that not only was the shuttle NOT on the property's premises (it leaves from the neighboring Hyatt) it also only left for WDW 3 times in the morning and had 3 evening return shuttle times. We would have had to rent a car had we really wanted to leave and returned as we pleased. Not to mention, staying at the Villas for a week...the food and drink situation was terrible for our night owl, young schedule. The restaurant was only open until 8 or 9 and after staying in the park until 10pm we found we had nothing to eat on our return. We ended up leaving the next day for more convienent and fun lodging at a Disney hotel, where 24 hour room service was fantastic and getting around was much less of a headache. So BEWARE those with wacky schedules that don't want to get stranded and parents with hyper children that don't want to wait for a shuttle that may seem to take years to arrive :(

The Villas of Grand Cypress was a beautiful experience and certainly "GRAND".. An absolute beautiful resort from the moment you drive in. The Villas and Suites are extremely spacious, clean and the staff is accommodating, eager to please, fulfilling anything you need or want. It truly is a golfers paradise, with two great restaurants overlooking the golf course, as do all the Villas. The meeting room was large with two sets of French doors that overlooked the lake. The reception was held outside on there patio, great wait staff and the food was very good, perfect weather, lots of sunshine. We will certainly consider another meeting at the Grand Cypress without a doubt.

Resort villas were very nice and golf and weather were great. Very close to Disneyland access but not much to do outside of resort if not going golfing or to Disney attractions. Orlando is pretty drab and resembles a suburb full of all the chain restaurants you would never want to go to anyway. The villas are also affiliated with the nearby Hyatt and the pool at the Hyatt was great and there is a free shuttle to take you to and from each location. Also got free drinks at check-in and check-out at the villas. Very friendly customer service at the villas and some free golf is included (driving range, pitch and put course and three exhibition holes).
