I was surprised by the Orrington. It was a very nice experience. The room was very nicely put together. The bed was super comfortable, same with the pillows. High quality sheets. It was one the best beds I've ever had in a hotel. The only complaint I would have about the room was that the AC was a bit noisy, but it did not get in the way of my sleep (the bed made up for it). Very nicely decorated room as well as hallways. Valet parking worked well and was very prompt.

We had a nice stay at the Orrington. Loved the bedding and the Aveda toiletries. The front desk staff and bell staff were outstanding. Only complaints would be tiny bathrooms and thin walls. Otherwise great. We'd stay here again.

Thir website could not be more misleading. This is an old, run down overpriced dump. "Spacious deluxe" rooms? Please . . .
Writing this while sitting in the Lobby at 4 am. The noise level in the room was unbearable. You can hear every word from your neigbours, even the discharge of bodily odors. Flushing the toilet is like causing a bomb go off. The windows do not open, and the aircon when running equals a jet engine. Door slamming all night. No sleep at all despite ear plugs. The mattress is too soft and worn out. They had to stuff the coffeemaker into the closet, because the room might not be larger thana jail cell. Furniture with lots of kinks. Internet access in the room very slow. TV no working properly. Electrical outlets lacking. I could go on and on.
Their advertising borders on fraud. They might have updated the lobby, but forgot the rooms . . .
Even an Expedia rate of $ 119 is about $ 115 too much. A Motel 6 would be more pleasant. Avoid at all costs!

My husband and I stayed here for a conference we attended at Northwestern University. This hotel has a great location (less than 2 blocks from the university) and walking distance from many restaurants and shopping. Staff were very friendly and professional. The room was very clean and well decorated. We would definitely stay there again.
