A lovely hotel, right in the heart of Brno, within easy walking distance to the old centre. Can be a bit tricky to get to by car due to the traffic system if you are driving. Friendly staff. Tea/coffee brought free of charge to your room on request. Food good. I would stay there again.

The hotel is really nice, and the location is ideal, right in the city center. The price though, is quite high for what you get, especially if you get one of the small single rooms.
The hotel has accessto a fitness center, with pool, and also has a handy Avis rental desk.
The staff is nice and courteous, and the vast majority speak enough English for the non-Czech speakers.

I spent 3 weeks in this hotel in April 2008. I was there with my fiance, and while he went to work I stayed at the hotel and worked from my laptop. Wifi was decent. The room was small and stuffy. Very hot at night and we could not get the AC to help much. Leaving the window open just meant you had to listen to trams and traffic during the night. The sleeping was uncomfortably warm and noisy, but during the day the place was better but always smoky.
Make sure and take advantage of ordering the free coffee and tea to your room. A few times they didn't bring it up to the room. The free breakfast buffet was pretty good and I loved the interior decorating of the restaurant. Very art deco restaurant and lobby. I stayed in two rooms on floors 4 and 10. I never got one of these nicely renovated rooms so I don't have much to say about them. The bathroom had that sewage smell, but most of Czech bathrooms are similar.
Hope you don't like to sleep in late as large tour groups leave at 7:30 in the morning and you can hear them in the hallways letting their doors slam shut behind them.
Also there were two different ferraris parked immediately outside the front door of the hotel, for show and tell perhaps?
I loved the fact that we were right across the street from Spilberk and the park, also great location for Namesti Svobody and all the shops. The only thing is you can only take advantage of the shopping if you have free time during the day (as my fiance did not) by the time he got back from work at 6pm all the shops were closed. Only restaurants remained open.
This is considered one of the nicer hotels in Brno, though below American standards it is pretty good for the Czech Republic.

We recently stayed at the Hotel International on business. Clean hotel but old. Comparable to an average US hotel. Rooms are relatively large. Free breakfast buffet has everthing but the quality is average. Location is excellent though as it is next to the city center and you can walk to all of the shopping areas.

very smoky hotel. Went on business and pleasure, some staff were very nice, others rude. The only positive things for this hotel is that is right across from the castle and shopping area and they serve a free breakfast buffet in a non smoking area. Otherwise, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. There is a pool and hot tub. The pool is cold and hot tub smelled very badly. stayed 5 days and it was not relaxing at all. I would not recommended this hotel for families with children.
