We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and found it to be an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the bus station and a 5 minute walk into the small town center where you can exchange money, get a drink and walk around the night market.
The hotel is built along the river and designed to feel like a villa with outdoor walkways and rooms looking out onto the river and garden. Our room was simple, clean and comfortable with a balcony and hammock overlooking the garden. There are outdoor beds, chairs and canopied massage tables out in the garden/pool area for you to retreat to after a day outdoors cave exploring or hiking. We even ordered personal massages that was a real delight and very affordable for one hour.
The restaurant in-house has excellent food and a good choice of various cuisines so you don't have to go far to seek out a great meal. there is also pool-side meal service if you want to order a snack or eat out in the garden. The service staff speaks English and is extremely friendly. The breakfast in the morning is outstanding where you can order eggs made any style to your liking.
We would not consider staying anywhere else when we return to Lencois.

We recently stayed in this small and lovely hotel, it is situated directly at the Lencois river (you hear the water rushing). Some rooms have windows directly to the river and offer a view of the old town (we stayed in such an "up-river, superior room").
The complex is well maintained with nice settings for the swimming pool, bar, and other outside facilities. It is located at the entrance to Lencois, just meters away from the bridge to the old town, in 5min walk you are almost everywhere in Lencois.
The kitchen is excellent, the breakfast can compare to what 5 star hotels may offer (and it is far more personal too). Even if you don't stay there (not exactly cheap for Brazil - we paid roughly 100 Euro / night), go there for dinner when you stay in Lencois - the restaurant is fabulous and affordable - the best food we got during our trip through Brazil (don't miss the dessert).

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Canto das Aguas for one night, and were really impressed with the facilities (beautiful pool and grounds), location (next to the river) and particularly with the level of service. Unfortunately my boyfriend was ill for the whole time, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and supportive - bringing us medicinal tea (which worked pretty well), going to the pharmacy for us and offering to take us to the hospital if we needed it. They also let us stay in the room until nearly midnight (we were catching a late bus) and charged us only half a daily rate, having already given us an upgrade to superior for the price of a standard. Overall, it was a beautiful hotel with great staff - we'd recommend it highly, and will hopefully go back one day.

We really loved this hotel: the atmosphere there is magic! A beautiful garden around the swimming pool overlooks the river. Although we chose standard rooms, we liked them as they are large enough and anything you need is there. Breakfast is excellent!!
