Like most things in Moscow this hotel isn’t cheap but you can’t fault its location. This hotel is central to just about everything important for tourists in Moscow, i.e. the Metro, Red Square and the Kremlin – even the breakfast room looks over Red Square if you’re lucky enough to get the window seat.
The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Nearly all of the staff I encountered spoke English, although, like everywhere else in Russia, a couple of words in the local language goes a long way to getting them to at least smile. Even the doorman who spotted that my wife couldn’t walk properly due to MS, went out of his way without prompting, to provide a sturdy umbrella that she could use to aid walking.
The only minor criticism I have is that bar was very expensive, especially the beer (?8 per pint) and the room I stayed in was quite small for a hotel of this stature and price - a room which also suffered from air condition noise during the night.
However, apart from minor criticisms, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Moscow.

We (family with 2 kids - 14 & 11 yrs old) visited Moscow end of April for 5 days.
Arrival at airport: everything went fine. No troubles with Russian douane.
Taxi to Center: I've read that you have to take an official taxi. However, in the airport somebody asked us if we needed taxi. I told him what is his price. He told me 2000 RUB. Finally for 1500 RUB he brought us to the center.
Taxi from hotel to Airport: we asked the hotel to order a taxi to bring us to the airport. Here finally we paid 3500 RUB. This was the only bad experience with the hotel.
Hotel Reception: every body is very friendly and helpful.
Hotel Room: we had a business Room with 2 extra beds for the kids. It was big enough. Maybe only the bathroom was only a little bit small.
Breakfast: no complain. Everything you want.
Big advantage of this hotel: everything is on walking distance.
Hotel: is quite expensive. (we paid near 18.000 RUB/night incl breakfast). The restaurant of the hotel: very good but also very expensive.
Moscow: is an expensive city for going to restaurant. (you may count on minimum 1000 RUB/person without wine) (Wine is very expensive: we saw bottles of more than 50.000 RUB)
Kremlin and Red Square is a must to visit.
Don't loose your time to visit Gorki Park: it's a amusement park not worth to visit.
We visited the zoo of Moscow: nice for kids, but a lot of visitors.

stayed here for 2 nights at the end of march before going off to st. petersburg. We had their driver pick us up at the airport, was able to get in our room when we arrived around noon.
hotel has the best location. We found the staff very nice. At first we felt the concierge was trying to rip us off abit but once they realized we did not want tickets 3x the regular price or the fancy hotel cars that were 3x the cabs they were very helpful . They found us a nice guide. the breakfast buffet that came with the room was great with a lovely view of red square. The public rooms on the first floor were so-so. the restaurant in the atrium was very smokey and the other restaurant was very formal. they didn't really have a good hang out spot. The gym and pool were ok. if the pool is important to you than you should stay at the ritz. My sister was there and it was spectacular looking.
our room did not have such a lovely view. we were in the back overlooking the back of the new ritz. The room itself was very average. I am guessing the rooms in the front with the views are much better and next time i would request those.
we picked this hotel rather than the ritz or hyatt because of the price (around $500 /night). If the prices are close i would stay at either of the other hotels. The ritz is brand new and beautiful and the hyatt, while a longer walk to the sights, is nice too with better shopping nearby.

This hotel is central to just about everything in Moscow. It's about 1000 meters from Red Square. Perfect.
As in most Russian hotels, the front desk is not very friendly but they will accommodate just about every request. They are extremely professional and very formal.
The most obvious thing about this hotel other than it's absolute beauty, I mean beauty, is the obvious security. Which is a good but can be somewhat intimidating, don't let it be. Most 3 + hotels in Russia have pretty strict security policies but this one is the most secure, I've stayed at.
The rooms were spacious, very clean and first class linen by far. We chose not to dine in the hotel but did order room service one morning. It was very good.
.
I would stay there again but not for a long term stay. I like less formality after a few days.
The front desk and lounge workers speak English. Like every where else, if you attempt their language, you've at least gotten them to smile!

This hotel is not one of the cheapest at ?250 per night for a standard room but just across the road from Red Square the location is the best. We only had 2 nights here so needed to be very central. All the major sites - Kremlin, Red Square, National History Museum and St Basils are within a few minutes walk. The concierge will help you with anything. The hotel has 2 bars - the one in the courtyard conservatory and the other through the restaurant. Make sure you go to the bar through the restaurant. It is a beautiful room. Wine is ?8 a glass and a beer ?12 - very expensive but we found a bar (Dissident on 5th floor of Nautilus shopping centre) the following day which sold house wine for ?20 per glass! A great restaurant called Vanilla Sky on Ploshchad Revolyskii down little side street off main road to left of Gum dept store is cheap and has good food. We spent ?35 for 2 people (drinks and food and coffees) Try the Russian champagne(!) for ?7 per bottle. Buy your souvenirs from market stalls outside red square. Also great way to get back to airport is to take the express train from Pavetskaya (spelling not quite right) Its ?3 per ticket and takes 40 mins. The train has great character and you get to go through some fantastic Russian countryside.
