I have just come back from the celebrating my boyfriend's birthday at the Quisi and, as usual, it was a completely perfect stay. I have been visiting the hotel for many years and have never witnessed or experienced bad service ! In my experience, the staff are competely charming and go out of their way to help - particularly Paolo who is Maitre D' of the wonderful terrace bar and his staff, and all the pool staff and Eduardo - the poolside waiter. The rooms are lovely - typically Italian, therefore stylishly understated and most have balconies or patios. We were given a room with private patio garden opening straight out onto the pool, and the hotel prepared a birthday cake for my boyfriend without us asking. It was all such a thoughtful and lovely welcome back to the hotel we were almost crying, and the location of the room was ideal given we spend daytime in the beautiful pool area. Breakfast and lunch buffet choice is great - including both healthy food and wonderful patisserie and spumante at breakfast !
Location and experience-wise, this is the only place to stay in Capri - it is on the doorstep of all best restaurants and designer shops (who deliver direct to the hotel for you - no carrying your own shopping !). The Quisi Terrace bar is the place to see and be seen, and I highly recommend the "Princess" champagne cocktails !
I really struggle to see how anyone has a bad experience here - I wonder what some reviewers are looking for !! And to comment on one of the earlier reviews about a lost item - one year I forgot one of my bikinis and left it in the bathroom. Far from it "disappearing" it was laundered and returned to me promptly and free of charge !
In my opinion, the Quisi is absolutely up there with the best hotels in US and Asia which I also regularly visit. And more importantly at the Quisi they treat you like an old friend. We have already booked for next year.

I now understand the wide disparity in reviews for this hotel. You cannot beat the location, and the lobby is lovely and the outdoor pool area quite nice, but the rooms are average for a 5 star hotel and I agree that the bathroom is not up to standards for a hotel of this supposed caliber. It simply does not compare to comparable 5-star hotels on the Amalfi Coast where we stayed, let alone Italy. In addition, the staff was haughty and cold. Further, we had an issue with the loss of property from our room. While the valuable had inadvertently been left behind when we vacated, we quickly contacted them once we realized the mistake the hotel was completely defensive, unresponsive and unhelpful in attempting to get to the bottom of what happened. We called them, they refused to put us through to the manager and promised to call back, but never did. Repeated inquiries about efforts made to find the piece were rebuffed until we finally got an incredibly nasty response from the hotel manager. We never got the piece back which I am sure was clipped by the service staff. The treatment we received during this crisis was simply not the type of service one should get at a hotel that charges the prices it charges. It was a huge disappointment and when I return to Capri, which I loved, I will definitely stay elsewhere where the staff is friendly and more responsive then the unfeeling corporate atmosphere of the Quisi.

We recently spent 12 days in Italy at five different hotels, this hotel was the least expensive and the most wonderful. The location is the best in Capri, it is beautiful with an amazing view and pool area. The rooms are charming with lovely details and the highest quality amenities and linens. The breakfast was delicious and in a beautiful setting. Guests need to know that the hotel will meet you at the ferry and transport your luggage to and from the marina to the hotel, we did not know this and suffered by carrying our luggage up myriad stairs and through thick crowds.

If you are ever in Capri, I can not recommend highly enough the Quisisana. From the immaculate rooms, impeccable staff, old style feel, it is truly a special place. 5 Star luxury, well worth a splurge.
