Me and my girl went to this wonderful hotel.Everything was excellent,room,food(we eat twice at grand chene(brasserie),atmosphere,staff and the spa.We had 3treatments each and we were so pleased.We took a boattrip to evian(france) it took 20minutes walk to the boat and the trip took 35min...it was nice to see the frenchside.We are absolutely going back.Have a good day..tommy

A very impressive property, big and old. Needs a lot of renovations but this wouldn't be a problem if the service would be a 5* service. The internet didn't work in the room for 3 days during our stay and when I informed the concierge he said"Oh,really?" The spa is nice,but there were renovating the place so very noisy and dirty. Also, the service was again disappointing, the staff informed me that i should change in the room because the lockers are for clients of the spa. So you need to walk in a robe in the hotel just because they don't have enough lockers! The restaurant "Grand Chene" is very nice, we had a great service, Ralf, really helpful. On the other hand, the breakfast restaurant was very disappointing and one night unfortunately we had dinner there. The food was not impressive and we've been overcharged. I will not get back there. For the money you spend (about 600 $ per night) I expect 5* service not just a large lobby!!!!

I have been a couple of times to the Lausanne Palace. It was since my first visit there and is still my preferred hotel. Everything is good: * Size is good, you feel like in a the Titanic. You can feel at home there. * Everything in the hotel is well thought, nicely arranged, ... * Rooms are comfortable, i love the bathrooms, really nice * breakfast is excellent * i would also recommend the restaurant in the hotel * location is perfect, right in the heart of the city (which is lovely anyway) Nothing bad to add :-)

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend in August 2007. The hotel is centrally located, approx quarter of a mile from the train station on a hillside. It is in close proximity to the main shopping area and in the old town. The lake is approximately one mile away, and is easily accessible by bus to Ouchy. The bus stop is approx 200 metres from the hotel. The hotel itself is typical of a five star hotel, with all the leisure/spa amenities. The staff were courteous and helpful. Our room on the fifth floor had a lake view and small balcony. The bed was large and comfortable and the marble bathroom was luxurious. From our point of view, there was little to complain about, however the only reservations we had were the cost of the breakfasts which were expensive and we elected to eat our breakfasts across the road at a quarter of the price of that being charged by the hotel. The mini bar was also expensive, and we were billed for a box of chocolates that had ‘Gift Of Gold’ on the box, and were left outside the mini-bar. We wrongly assumed these were free! The hotel seems ideally suited to business travellers and couples looking for a luxurious break, and as such is less suited to families, or those wanting a more informal holiday. Similarly, people who have mobility difficulties may find the hotel’s location difficult to access. If you do not generally stay in five star hotels you may also find yourself continually having to budget and watch for hidden extras, as we did, especially as by London/UK standards, Lausanne appears quite expensive.

Fantastic, The hotel is amazing, the staff are amazing the restaurants are amazing. Only 1 thing that pushed it down slightly, we stayed in August in the lake view rooms (huge by the way) the A/C either didnt work, or if it did it didnt work very well at all. Everything else was fabulous though!
