"On arriving there wasn't anyone at the reception. Also, the room didn't have any heating. It was freezing cold in the night. After calling the reception atleast 4 times, and promises of 'its being sorted' nothing happned and atlast a electric room heater was provided. I asked for a room change and..."

I recommend this hotel for: Pet owners.
A group of 30 of us has just come back from Bradford where we stayed at Hotel Dubrovnik. The rooms were spacious, clean and had everything you needed, including a high quality flat TV. The food at dinner was excellent and the breakfast included a fantastic hot choice. All the staff were effcient, flexible and very friendly. I recommend it highly! Cristina Garcia-Peri

Having booked this hotel and then stumbling over the reviews I was unsure what to expect. To be honest, I cannot believe people are posting complaints about 'Lack of roast potatoes' when the cost of this hotel is exceptional value for money. It is not trying to be the Ritz and if you want that, be prepapred to pay for it. This is a very well priced family run hotel and a refreshing change to the 'Chain' hotels of this world that lack personality and have spotty teenagers serving you who take little or no pride in what they do. The Dubrovnik is well run, clean and the staff actually bother to talk to you as a person, not just another punter. My room was contemporary and comfortable. The food was very good and the cooked breakfast was a simple classic affair that tasted superb. The raised bar area next to the reception is a great place to read a paper and enjoy a pint!

As a lady traveller I found this hotel very pleasant. I was made to feel welcome on arrival, both the older gentleman behind the bar and the head waiter were charming. Nice food, nice staff and a real jewel of a hotel.

Hotel did not fulfill what was promised for the Christmas break. Food not up to expectations. No Roast Potatoes. No Live Entertainment and a pathetic quiz was all on offer for the festive break. No staff available but only a barman to complain to who shrugged his shoulders. There is only one area to sit and relax in the evening - this is a very small bar which if you do not smoke is unsuitable. Had to go to our bedroom in the evening. Breakfast were plates of fried food placed in front of us every morning resembling breakfast at a boarding school. There was no variation or choice - the toast was obviously made ages before it was needed and kept warm so when served it was soggy and unpalatable. Our dinners were no better - limited choice of menus that had been advertised on the reception counter. Often with one choice and if lucky a second was offered from the 4 choices offered to non group. We were pushed out of the main dining room into a side room where tables had been erected like the poor relatives. Unsuitable for the paying public to see or spend time with. I would not recommend anybody to book this hotel it is a total rip off.

I recommend this hotel for: Pet owners.
If you find yourself in Bradford for a night but don't want to spend a lot of money on somewhere to stay then this hotel is adequate for your needs. Warning - Take the hotel's website with a huge pinch of salt as it will give you unrealistic expectations of the rooms - ours was very basic and a bit shabby. We booked through an online site and a Saturday night was £55 per room. I felt that this was reasonable but I would have felt well and truly ripped off had I paid the full tariff. The staff however were really helpful when we needed an early check in and service overall was warm and polite. Parking was easy, there was a reasonably well stocked hotel bar and we had a good nights sleep as the hotel is in a residential area. Taxis are cheap in Bradford so getting in and out of town is straightforward. If you are looking for somewhere local to eat I would recommend 'The Inn Dian' which served us a wonderful curry with alcohol for under £10 per head.
