Very good value at around £45, booked online a couple of hours before i arrived. Would recommend for a quickstopover.

Odd Ikea like Hotel

I recommend this hotel for: Families with teenagers, Families with young children, Older travelers, Tourists, Young singles, An amazing honeymoon.
We arrived in Stavanger on a Sunday morning with not a thing open. We were on our way to Lysbotn, Norway (need to bring food provision) and since there is NOTHING open for food we had no choice but to stay in town before heading out our original destination. In through the rain we see a non-descript hotel call smarthotel[-] with 3 smart cars parked in front. (For Americans: Smart cars are the 2 or 4 door little cars made by Mercedes in cooperation w/ Swatch. Mercedes also makes an A version that is very impressive. Mercedes is supposed to decide any day if they will bring the little cars to the states soon. I'm hoping yes. I've been infatuated with these odd little vehicles for years now.) So we ask about rooms for the night and agree to check in. They only charge 489 kc a single plus half if 2 person in a room, which is us. Not a bad price. We get our key card which is made out of heavy paper more like a movie/concert ticket and head up the elevator to the 4th floor. As we are walking down the hall we notice a the room doors are very close to each other, we also notice that there are around 40 rooms per floor. When we key into our room we are flashed back to college days....dorm room Ikea style. Kitschy but highly functional. There is a queen size bed that is on the level of "dream beds" Sheraton/Hilton. Very very comfortable w/ 2 normal size pillows and 2 extra large square pillow and accompanied by 2 twin size comforters. (no flat sheet just the fitted sheet...European style...I still don't get this set up but at least I no longer have room service send me an extra sheet.) Night stand, computer desk, w/ free high speed internet, tv w/ internet. Bathroom consists of tight but once again very functional shower w/ door and tini corner sink and normal size toilet. No closet but hooks and 3 hangers on the wall. With two roller boards and two back packs there was no much room to move around the room. But once again the room was very Ikea. The only negative about the room is no air conditioning. Didn't need it but had to sleep with the double paned window open and could hear light traffic at night. The staff are friendly, polite and very much willing to assist. The lobby lounge food area is bright clean and efficient, once again very Ikea. It looks like the hotel has only been open since February so it has the not been abused feel yet. The only people staying here it appears are college age young men but w/ out all the drinking etc. etc.
