55 euros per night for room. Booked on line – no probs. Free safe car parking. Good breakfast for 8 euros. Clean, reasonably sized modern room. Friendly staff. A good 15-20 minutes walk into the city – no way could you walk it in 10 minutes as previously reported.

Orleans was our first stop after arriving in France via Dieppe. It was approx 3.5-4 hour drive so a nice first stop off. We booked over the net and found the hotel exactly as described. It was a 10-15 minute walk in to the centre (20 minutes to tourist information and cathedral.) The Loire is directly opposite the hotel with plenty of bridges and places to walk and stop alongside. There is a fairly busy road in front of the hotel but as the hotel is set back from the road the setting is not disturbed. The parking for the hotel is through courtyard entrance so any resident car is not visible from the road. On check in the hotel receptionist welcomed our french but as soon as they saw we had an english booking and vehicle responded to us in English. We were on the second floor via lift access. The rooms are a good size with TV and BBC World. For anyone who has stayed in a chain hotel in UK the rooms are very similar, but the ambience was of a more friendly hotel. One let down in the room was the shower curtain which I would suggest was soon to be replaced. It had already been replaced in my travel partners room. Breakfast was a buffet style - plenty of choice of breads, cheese, meats and jams plus cereal and fruit etc. Cost was reasonable - about £5 - and much better value than the £7-10 paid for lower standard continental breaskfast served in many UK chain hotels. The hotel had Wi-Fi available which was chargeable. We didnt need it that night but costs were OK. There are several restuarants closeby (before the town - 5 minutes walk). We went to a restuarant called VIP which sounded a little cheesy but as it was being by locals aswell as tourists we gave it a go. It was well worth it - 3 good courses (seafood starter, meat main and sorbet dessert) plus wine under £25 per person. All in all, very good overnight stop over. We could have stayed several nights in the hotel to explore the area but we heading south. However,for any return trip to the area we will certainly reuse this hotel.

C’est un hôtel de bonne qualité, propre et beau. Le personnel est serviable. L’hôtel est un peu hors des sentiers battus mais il est à seulement 15 minutes de marche du principal quartier commerçant et de restaurants. Nous avons apprécié l’ambiance paisible qui régnait et les promenades le long de la Loire jusqu’au quartier principal le soir. C’était très agréable. Je serais content de recommander cet hôtel à tous ceux qui veulent un bon service pour un bon prix. L’hôtel était très propre et bien entretenu. Le petit déjeuner était de très bonne qualité, tant pour le choix que pour la qualité. Je séjournerais à nouveau dans cet hôtel avec plaisir si je devais revenir à Orléans.

Good quality hotel clean and well presented helpful staff.The hotel slightly off the beaten track but only a 15 minute walk to the main shopping /dining area.We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the walk along the Loire to the main area in the evening was very pleasant.I would happily recomend it to anyone who wants good service at a reasonable price.The hotel was very clean and well kept,the breakfast was of a high standard in both choice and quality.I would happily stay again should we be in Orleans.
