Acanto Boutique was the perfect home away from home. When there, I felt like I was on vacation, but the staff was so friendly they made me feel right at home. They were there at my every beckon call. The view in and around the hotel is amazing, especially at night. The hotel is in the perfect location. It is close to town and there is so much to do. The beach is right there too and is beautiful as well. Thank you Acanto for making my vacation so wonderful!!

had the best time ever in this great small town. hotel staff was wonderful. helped us with our stay in every way. hotel very clean, very romantic at night. very close to beach which was a plus when we planned trip. can't tell you what a great time we had. we recommend this hotel to everyone going to playa del carmen. this is a great place for a first vacation.

I did not feel welcomed or respected by the staff. It took the staff two days to replace a faulty hair dryer. The water was often cold. The pool was small and dirty. A staff member at the front desk assured us that he would safely store our luggage the day we checked out. About an hour later when we were in a cab heading to the airport, we realized our iPod was missing from the front pouch of our backpack. The day before we couldn't find our camera which we had left in the hotel room. We're just saying if you'll be staying at the Acanto, be very careful with your belongings. A bonus was that the suite was large but this isn't enough for me to go back.

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel with another couple and had a great experience. This was our first trip to Playa del Carmen and as avid travelers we prefer to stay in smaller, boutique hotels rather than larger chain hotels. We originally booked the penthouse with rooftop pool because the description itself was incredible. When we arrived at the penthouse it was not what we expected unfortunately, as it was about 15 minutes away from the main hotel and downtown, and a bit dated. The neighborhood was somewhat deserted apart from the loud construction, and quite a walk to the beach or any main drags. When we called management to ask for a transfer to the main hotel, they were very understanding and accomodating. The main hotel was fantastic and very charming. It is located in the middle of town and steps from the beach. The rooms themselves are very clean and well designed. We would definitely stay at this hotel again if we returned to Playa del Carmen. This review would have been 5 stars if we knew about the condition of the penthouse before we arrived, but overall a great experience.
