As I worked for another Best Western Property I got one night room only for £42 can't complain! Was in Derby visiting my little sister so it was pretty much just a crash pad in between taking her out for dinner and taking her to alton towers the next day!
The staff couldn't have been less interested if they tried apart from one guy on the bar who actually spoke to me!
The room itself was lovely, really comfortable bed, excellent bathroom (with speakers from the television in the shower so my other half had to put up with friends even though he wasn't watching it!). The only downside about the room was the lovely view of the flat roof's and staff areas!
All in all, good for less money than you'd pay at a seaside b&b.

An excellent business hotel convenient (but note: not in, it's about ten minutes' walk) for the centre of Derby. The rooms are average, but well appointed, clean and comfortable (although I missed a robe and slippers). It's easy to park right outside. The restaurant looked OK, although we only had a (good) breakfast there. Staff were friendly and efficient. The only oddity was that they supplied just one towel between two, but they quickly and happily brought a second. I look forward to staying there again.

I stayed here whilst attending a business conference and during the conference my mobile phone, digital camera and ipod were stolen. This room was suppoosedly 'secure', offering no access to the general public, I was told the only individuals who could gain entry into the suite of rooms were staff.
On my return to the 'break out' room where my belongings had been 'safely' left I found that most of the contents of my bag were missing. Following a frantic search and general musing as to where I could have left these items, I reported the incident to the staff including the duty manager. The response I recieved was less than satisfactory, one member of staff actually laughed and stated that she didnt know what to suggest. I asked if it would be possible for the hotel to contact the police since it was obvious that some members of their staff would come under suspcion...I was told that they were not allowed to do so and I would have to contact them myself...not easy without a phone, especially considering the expensive rate for calls made from bedrooms (which totalled 10 pounds and which I paid for).
Needless to say I have learnt my lesson, dont leave valuables unattended....more to the point, DON'T STAY in the Midland Hotel

We stayed here for a wedding Fri night in an executive room (we got a good deal off [--]). The hotel room was very spacious, and the queen size bed was incredibly comfortable. I got a great nights sleep (and I am a light sleeper). The hotel and room was very clean. Location wise the hotel is a 10 min walk max into Derby centre. It has ample parking and a nice garden. Yes, the decor is a little dated but I have no complaints.

Absolutely superb food, Its the reason the hotel has 4*'s, Room were kept tidy although they were shabby and poorly laid out. Staff were professional, although I have seen doberman pinchers who are more friendly and would probably have been more pleased to see you (even if it was because you were on the menu). The piano playing in the cramped restaurant and bar was a touch of grandieu but this hotel is trying to be something it isnt. Would recommend it for a meal, if you were in Derby but wasnt impressed with the rest of the hotel.
