Our stay at the Ai Cipressi was enhanced by the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were more than willing to explain to us what their beautiful city had to offer. Make sure you make use of their passes to the Puccini concerts. The hotel was an easy walk to the city walls and the rooms were clean and comfortable. While there were air conditioners in the rooms, an unseasonably hot spring day meant that the rooms were quite warm during the night.

Stayed one night at this B&B in June this year. The receptionist was very helpful. The room ok. The location was good, a short walk into the old city centre. The air conditioning a bit noisy, but apart from that it worked well. The bathroom had not been properly cleaned when we arrived (both floor, shower and toilet was a bit dirty), but they cleaned up the worst of it immediately when we told the receptionist. It had a private parking, and the rooms faced away from the street, so it was also quiet at night (apart from the air conditioning).

Spent 3 nights at Ai Cipressi. Location was good, we weren't to far from one of the main gates, Porta Elise. Gabriele and Daniele were great, they were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and loved the bread with rasins in it and I understand is a speciality of Lucca, so we bought a small loaf of it from Botcellta store and ate half the loaf before returning to our hotel. Wish we brought some home. Our room was large and comfortable, only wish we could of spent a little more time on the balcony relaxing but we were so busy going here and there that we didn't spend that much time in our room. Not real fancy but nice and clean and big bathroom.

On arrival we were given lots of information about Lucca and our hosts could not have been more helpful and pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable, air conditioned and we had a fridge! Not a picturesque building, but in a very convenient location - a good healthy walk into the town - and the parking is an added bonus. Find out from Gabriele and Daniele about the Puccini concerts every evening - we went and were delighted. A lovely town, which we hope to revisit, and will definitely stay at Ai Cipressi again.

My husband and I stayed two nights in Lucca after a five night stay in Rome. We were looking for a little "downtime", away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. We had a great stay here. We chose to walk from the train station, a good 20 minute walk. As noted previously, the walk was easy, but loose gravel made dragging the suitcases difficult. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The brothers were both very gracious and helpful. The location was ideal, right outside the wall. We rented the bikes for two days, riding them on the walls, inside and outside of Lucca. We even rode them to the train station for a quick trip into Pisa, then back to Lucca again. We attended the Puccini concert in town, using the brothers' pass. This, too, is a deal since the pass cost 10 euros each, the admission price at the church was 15 euros. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again the next time in Lucca.
