I can't even find words to express what a fantastic experience we had at the Villa Oriana. We stayed in late June early July 2008 for 7 days. It was an absolute pleasure. Upon driving through the orange groves we were immediately met at the door by Maria and Giuseppe, the owners. We were a little early for check-in so we sat on the wonderful balcony, where breakfast is served every morning, with views of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. As we were waiting for our room to be prepared, Giuseppe brought a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade from the huge lemons in their orchard. We were given a wonderful room, which seemed to be the largest, with a great little balcony that had the same view as the breakfast balcony. Breakfast was amazing as every morning you were pleasantly surprised by the different cakes and tarts that Maria prepared fresh and an assortment of meat, cheese, and cereal. Every morning Maria made it a point to speak to all of her guests during breakfast to help them plan their day and Guiseppe would bring fresh squeezed orange juice to the tables. The girls on staff, Valentina and Ornella, made great suggestions for tours and restaurants that would pick you at the hotel and even made the reservations for us. You may want to bring a good pair of sneakers as the hike up hill is a bit tedious at the end of the day, but it offers wonderful views of the Bay on your way up. You may want to bring a little flashlight as their is one section that is a little dark, but I have to admit it was great exercise plan. Overall we had a very pleasant experience and miss them all greatly, as Maria was kind enough to drive us to the train station the day we left. With that said we are recommending them to everyone we know and plan to stay there again some time in the future!

My husband and I stayed at the Villa Oriana Relais in March 2008. It had taken us almost 24 hours to travel from the US, through Rome and Naples, and finally onto Sorrento for the start of our first trip to Italy. We were weary and hungry when we arrived, and were welcomed with friendliness and some freshly squeezed lemonade from the lemon trees on the grounds of the B & B.
It was such a treat to stay at this wonderful B & B, thanks to the warm and inviting staff: Maria, Guiseppe, Valentina, and Pasquale. From the picture windows in the breakfast area overlooking Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples, we enjoyed the finest home-baked desserts, fruits, cheeses, and the most sumptuous coffee that could put any Starbucks to shame!
Our only regret was that we could not stay longer! We will definitely be back to visit again! :) Bellisimo!

Villa Oriana offered us everything we hoped and more. After sightseeing in Rome and Florence, we used the train to travel to Sorrento and a taxi to transport us to Villa Oriana. Arriving through lemon groves was the beginning of a beautiful stay of 8 days.
We stayed in a junior suite, with sunken bath, walk in shower, king size bed, air conditioning, sky television and a balcony which overlooked vesuvious and the bay of naples - truly idyllic.
Breakfasts were outstanding with fresh homemade quiche, an assortment of cakes and mozarella and tomatoes to die for.
The jacuzzi on the roof terrace had the best views of the bay of naples and sunbeds etc. were provided free of charge - we have never known luxury like it - despite extensive travelling
Maria and Guiseppe were the perfect hosts - they cared, they took time out to talk and nothing was ever too much trouble.
As a non-exerciser!!! the walk to Sorrento was achievable even for me - and the walk back up the hill was an achievement every day
Villa Oriana is without doubt the jewel in the crown of Sorrento and i would argue that to stay anywhere else would be foolish
