View and beach fantastic. Bathrooms looking a bit tired. Staff extremely friendly and accomodating. Meals amd decor really exciting.

I and my husband stayed 3 days 2 nites. First of all, we do not feel welcome by the front office staff. They have a sad face. The room is out of our expectation for a five star hotel which everything is old. The bed was not spongy at all. It may be a ten year old one. The RM460 something room is not worth at all except the location is good. I recomend not to have any food at the hotel. Mcdonald, Kentucky fried checken and many stall at walking distance.

Spent nine nights in a Regency Club sea view room and was sad to leave. Setting - on a quiet beach overlooking the South China Sea, bordered by jungle - is magical and the staff are lovely. There are two decent sized, and very clean, pools and the food - (ate in the Kampung buffet and the Italian bistro) - is both good and excellent value. Granted, the hotel was built in the late 70s so the rooms are not ultra large and, initially, seem slightly basic but the service - frequent towel changes, as much complimentary mineral water as you like etc - is first class. Would strongly recommend staying in Club; well worth the extra money. This is a fabulous place to unwind and relax - it is a very natural, unpretentious, non blingy, non dressy uppy and ultra outdoorsy resort. Surprisingly, but happily, there seemed very few flies/insects and, in June at least, the weather was great with plenty of sun, little rain and frequent sea breezes. Reckon some of the Hyatt's reviews are overly harsh; this is a high quality hotel boasting dedicated, charming, staff and a gorgeous location.

We're (mum and 2 children!) just back from a great weekend at the Hyatt. A lovely location, clean and well kept. But what really made the stay was the staff. Without fail everyone was helpful, friendly and polite. I was stung really badly by a jelly-fish (Beware! Stick to the beach in front of the hotel and don't go too far out! I have honestly never known such pain!) my son went to reception and within minutes, Jaya from reception was up to our room organising sting spray, calming us down (!) and ordering a taxi to the clinic to get it checked out. Even later on his break he stopped to ask how I was. Also, on arrival we were upgraded to the Regency club rooms and received complimentary cocktails, snacks and breakfast, at no extra cost! True, the rooms are a little small and the food can be expensive, by Malay standards, in the restaurants but it is a good hotel with lovely grounds and really great staff. We'll be back!
