Stayed in Kaos with Riviera Travel. The hotel was adequate but nothing more. It was obviously trying to be something it is not. I can guess that it is surviving on tour companies so I feel sorry for any lone traveller who happens across it. On other hand I doubt that would happen as its near nothing exciting. The famous swimming pool is not so wonderful as it is surrounded by nothing nice to look at. The food was passable – we did not starve.

Hotel Kaos is a lovely hotel, extremely clean and has efficient and helpful staff. It also has a fantastic swimming pool with numerous sun beds and deck chairs. During our stay which was for 5 nights there were only approximately 20 people in the hotel which led to a strange athmosphere and a lack of warmth. One day there was a wedding reception and the place was transformed with the additional people about. It is convenient to the Valley of the Temples and is set in a secluded area between Agrigento, Porto Empodocle and San Leone.

This hotel is my favorite of all the hotels in Europe thus far. I've been looking it up so that I can plan a trip so my husband can experience it. Inside, the rooms are a bit small but have views of the charming courtyard or the sea. There are many little courtyards with fountains that are often empty if you are looking to enjoy some alone time with your honey. The piano bar was luxurious and the bartender was among the nicest i've met and made me my very first cocktail nearly 8 years ago. Outside the terrace was a stunning place to enjoy a romantic meal with sunset views of the ocean and the town. A few steps down to the left was a charming duck pond and you continued down to an amazing pool where the deck fades to the water like the ocean. Friendly staff was on hand to teach dances poolside and it was a ton of fun. Most people aren't aware of the additional level that you can go down and walk to the beach, get lost in the secret gardens, or come across the abandoned pizza bar typical of europe. Its a short taxi ride to the city center with some great restaurants and amazing shopping and a short distance to the temples. I'd recommend this place 100%.

I stayed at Hotel Kaos as part of a weeks tour of Sicily with Riviera Travel. I am pleased to report that the building work has finished and I stayed in one of the refurbished rooms. The new rooms are stylish and modern with plenty of cupboard space, flat screen tv, wet room shower and plenty of clean towels and toiletries. The hotel is very clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here - the Riviera courier was exceptional, the hotel staff friendly, hard working and always greeted us with a smile. There is a spa in the hotel and the outdoor terraces and landscaping are lovely. The swimming pool is one of the best I have seen and the views from the hotel (sea and country) are stunning. The food was adequate - the breakfast buffet was very good. Due to us being a party of 48 we were asked to choose our evening meal each day at breakfast, which although not ideal is understandable for a small, intimate hotel as it makes it easier for them to know how much of what is required by who. The staff worked very hard and made our stay pleasant and effortless. If you want to take a week's break to just chill out by the pool, read some bestsellers in a tranquil unhurried setting then this would be a good choice. The town of Agrigento is a short taxi ride away as is the stunning Valley of the Temples and the equally stunning Archaeological Museum both of which are definitely worth a visit. There is also a small bar/cafe in the grounds of the museum which is clean and serves refreshments and light snacks. I am certainly considering returning next year. It is important to know that this part of Sicily is not geared up for tourism, unlike the Taormina area, and in my opinion is all the better for it.
