We stayed in this hotel for two nights while visiting Legoland. The weather was so....HOT- unbearable. But it was wonderful to retreat to such spacious, comfortable rooms. We are family of 4 and one baby so having large queen sized beds was a real treat not to forget the wonderful air conditioning that worked like a dream. We had previously stayed in the copthorn, which is modern and 4star plus. But the rooms were so stuffy and the sofa bed uncomfortable. This hotel was rated as 3 star but would choose it again while visiting legoland again definately.

I booked this through Holiday Extra's for ?69 for the one night but also including 8 nights car parking. They did not charge me the extra ?3 quoted by other reviewers and what's more, my car was parked in the underground carpark on site which made me feel a little more secure. Included in this price was a one way taxi tansfer to Heathrow and in my case that would be terminal 4. I would be required to pay ?27.60 for the return taxi. The taxi driver clearly knew the backroads to Terminal 4 as we were there in 15 minutes. As the airport Hoppa bus doesn't go to Termnal 4, I found this a great solution to having to haul all my luggage through Heathrow's Central Train Station which is why I didn't stay at one of the closer Heathrow hotels.

OK - but you won't feel very comfortable!

I often stay at the Holiday Inn Slough-Windsor as it is amongst the better value hotels in the Berkshire area, but unfortunately this is not saying much as hotels in Berkshire are generally of a poor standard, and this Holiday Inn is no exception.
First the pluses - it does have parking which costs 3GBP, and the bed is comfortable. The location is close to the M4 (although if you expect to walk anywhere, better forget it, as the area around is just roads and quite dodgy). The breakfast service buffet in the morning is also pretty good, and the room and bathroom sizes are ok (not too small while not too spacious either).
Now the problems - for a whole month I've been going there, the thermostat has not been working in ANY room so the water goes from very hot to very cold - I keep being assured the problem is being "looked at".
The internet service is exhorbitantly expensive, and there are not many TV channels available to watch. The bar area is very unwelcoming and the food is only passable. The gym is tiny, and the check-in service is insufficient. Moreover, as is common in the whole area, you will be hearing the Heathrow planes flying over, and there are many of them.
Overall a passable hotel, good if you are looking for a good value option while collecting points, but otherwise not what you'd be looking for in a hotel.

Booked this hotel as a package with Legoland.
Stayed one night in this hotel, with my partner and our 5 year old son. The room was clean with one double bed and a single camp bed. Kettle with Tea/coffee, hairdryer etc. Had an evening meal in hotel, which was nice and good size portions, check in quick and staff very friendly.
I have to agree with the other reviews the room was cold, the heater warmed it up quick, but noisy but we did stay on one of the coldest weekends yet.
The plane noise did not bother us, infact my son and I loved watching them.
Breakfast self service, not the best I've tasted, but my partner thought it was ok. My 5 year old did manage to find someones bikini underneath our bed when he was playing with his cars!!!
Parking is ?3.00, we paid the ?3.00 when we checked in, only to find that when we got to the barriers the card did not work. Not a major problem though.
Just very quickly Legoland was brilliant and pleased I had booked the 2 day pass, rather than the one day. !!! I would book this hotel again as a base for Legoland

Decent hotel a couple of miles from Windsor

Have just returned from 2 nights in the Holiday Inn.
Paid ?38 per night - booked through own website.
Very easy to find. 1/2 mile from M4.
Check in was a breeze and got upgraded to an "Executive Room" with a view over to Windsor and the castle (and the heathrow flightpath!)
Room was pretty decent size with nice big king sized bed. Bathroom clean and spacious. Slight problem with the shower. Went from scalding hot, then freezing cold, then scalding hot, then freezing cold (changes every second)
Arrived Friday night at 9pm and wanted to eat. Asked reception if there was anywhere to eat closeby. Was advised the nearest places were a couple of miles away. When arriving at the hotel saw what looked to be a pub next door so decided to try this out. Walked to it and found it was a strip joint!
There were some kebab houses / ship shops at the end of the road but ended up eating at the hotel. Food was average....
Wife used the gym on the Saturday morning and it was pretty good.
Went to wedding on the Saturday and the hotel booked a taxi for us (that turned up 20 minutes late). Taxi fare was ?10 in to Windsor. ?13 back at 11pm.
Overall hotel was good. ?3 for parking seems a little harsh... but you do get free newspapers which pays for that... partly.
If I was in this area again would certainly consider this hotel - if the rooms were ?38 a night!!
