Stayed at the Courtyard over the July 4th weekend and it was fantastic! Perfect location-within half block of Michigan Ave and ten million restaurants, all in a SAFE walking distance. For the price, you can't go wrong when in Chicago. The rooms were good, beds great, prompt maid service, good view. But the best part was the staff. Never, and I mean never, have I met a nicer ,more helpful bunch of people at any hotel in my life! It was like you were at a small bed and breakfast, not a big hotel in a large urban area. "Big Anthony" the doorman was so very helpful with all the questions we bombarded him with every time we left the front door. He always was very helpful with a big smile. The front desk was the same way- very courteous and polite. Check in and out was a breeze-- and there was lots of action going on with people coming and going. I was very impressed with the establishment and HIGHLY recommend it for everyone.

Found a great rate for this hotel via Travelzoo and didn't have to purchase ahead. The location was wonderful. A block from Mag Mile and restaurants, walking distance to Hancock Center, River North, Lakeshore Dr., and Millenium Park/Loop. Short cab ride to Old Town. Always people around. Also near bus routes. We were able to walk almost everywhere (and nap in between:)). We left our cell phone in the cab on the way there and the front desk and concierge staff could not have been more helpful in trying to track it down (subsequent cab passenger retrieved it and called us). Our room on the top floor had a great view, was clean and had a modern decor and very comfy bed. Carpet needed some cleaning but room was otherwise good and had a sofabed. We were by the elevator but noise was minimal. Corner Bakery nearby for breakfast along with a small Starbucks. Free internet connection was great. Would definitely go again for the rate we got.

We stayed Tuesday--Friday, and loved this location. Our room was large and very clean with comfortable beds, and although located right next to the vending machines and ice machine, it was incredibly quiet. The staff, though busy was attentive, with the doormen being especially good. We will definitely stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel for three nights on business and was thoroughly satisfied. The location off of Michigan Avenue is so convenient that I never bothered to take a taxi or train anywhere. The location is very convenient to the Magnificent Mile and the Loop. Even the walk to Navy Pier wasn't too bad since it the weather was nice!
The rooms are the standard Courtyard fare. Quiet room (at least it was quiet on the 23rd floor), Good beds, hot water, acceptable wired internet speeds. Very friendly staff too, although I've come to take that for granted at White Lodging Properties.
I ate dinner one evening at Viand, the restaurant downstairs, and was pretty pleased. However, I'd recommend Coco Pazzo Cafe across the street for a more relaxed and less-pretentious atmosphere.
Although you'll end up paying a pretty penny to stay downtown, I thought this property was a very good value for either business or leisure travel, especially given the more expensive competition nearby!
